How to transfer your domain to Zen Hosting Print

  • 193

If your domain name registrar wasn't Zen Hosting but you’d like to transfer your domain to us, you need to initiate a transfer.

Click Domain Names in the menu at the top of the home page and choose Transfer a Domain.

Then, type in the name of the domain you wish to transfer.

For example, if www.zenhosting.com.au was to transferred, you would type zenhosting in the field, choose .com.au from the dropdown menu, then click Search.

When the domain is displayed with the price of transfer, click the Add to Cart button.

On the next page, you'll be asked you to enter the EPP code (or domain password). This code can be obtained from your current registrar (see the Knowledgebase article on Finding out your domain password for more information).

Enter the code and select the free add-ons you would like to add to your order.  You do not need to alter the information in the name server section unless you want Zen Hosting or another provider to host it. If you've chosen Zen to be your website host, use ns1.zenhosting.com.au and ns2.zenhosting.com.au otherwise contact your hosting provider for their nameserver information.

Click Continue, then click the Checkout button on the next page.

Enter your personal information and your payment details, then click Complete Order. You’ll need to finalise payment using PayPal.

Now it’s time to check your email account.  Please make note of the emails you receive from Zen Hosting.  One email will ask you to click on a link to approve the transfer.  Your current domain name registrar may also send you an email to advise that you’ve initiated a domain name transfer request.

Transferring your domain can take up to five days.  It’s rare for it to take this long, though.
